Important changes at PWG

As many of you know, we are now a partner practice with UCSF. As of September 20, 2017 we will be switching over to a new electronic health record called Apex [UCSF’s adaptation of EPIC]. This will mean some changes for our existing patients:

  • Our new patient portal will be called MyChart and is scheduled to go live in January 2018
  • As of September 20, 2017, our current patient portal will no longer be operational. If you currently use that to email your pediatrician or send us documents you will no longer be able to do so.
  • You can still call the office at 650.216.7794 and send us faxes at 650.217.7796
  • We will not be able to send electronic prescriptions for controlled substances [such as Ritalin] after 9/20/17, you will have to make arrangements with your pediatrician to pick up paper prescriptions for these types of medications at our office.
  • the Apex team at UCSF is working on getting us the ability to send electronic prescriptions for controlled substances, we will update you as we get more information.
  • we will still be able to send electronic prescriptions for non-controlled substances such as antibiotics.
  • We will post updates on our website, blog, Facebook page and twitter feed as we get more information.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this might cause, and we appreciate your patience as we transition to this new system.
