Below is some basic information about Pediatric Wellness Group that covers hours of operation, emergency care, required forms, prescriptions and billing.
Appointments
Appointments can be made during office hours. Our office hours are Monday through Thursday 9:00 am – 8:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday, urgent care only 9:00 am -12:00 pm. We are closed on these holidays: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
After Hours & Emergency Care
If you are experiencing an emergency, dial 911 or head to the nearest emergency room.
If you have an urgent question that cannot wait and our office is closed, call our main line at 650-216-7794 and you can be connected to our nurse triage service, (There may be a fee associated with this service) For non-urgent questions, please feel free to leave a message and we will return your call on our next business day.
After Hours Pediatrics in San Mateo is our designated after-hours facility. 210 Baldwin Avenue, San Mateo, 94401 650-579-6581
It is a walk-in medical facility conveniently located in downtown San Mateo. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis and may go directly to the clinic without phoning for an appointment. Their hours are: Monday – Friday 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays 10:00 am- 10:00pm
You may also call the Pediatric Evening Referral Clinic to speak with a Triage R.N. for medical advice when we are closed in the evenings / nights and all day on Saturday and Sundays. 415-387-9293.

Prescription Renewals
Prescriptions are renewed during normal office hours. In some instances, we may require that patient be seen in our office prior to medication renewal. Please allow up to 3 business days for our office to complete a refill authorization request.
Forms
The cost of researching, filling out and signing forms is not covered by health insurance. . We charge a $5 fee to cover the costs of completing these forms and require four (4) business days to fill them out. For forms that need to be filled out on the same day there will be a $30.00 charge. These fees may change from time-to-time.
Co-payments and Billing information
All co-payments or visits are payable at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards and debit cards. We are also set up to accept online bill payments via a secure third party site called paysimple. Missed Appointments
Life happens and we understand that sometimes you cannot make your appointment. Please call us at least one day in advance to cancel or change your scheduled appointment. No call to our office equals a ‘No Show’ and we reserve the right to charge a $50 fee to cover some of the cost of that unfilled appointment slot.
Can my Teenager come to your office alone?
Yes, however we cannot give any vaccinations without a note from a parent or legal guardian for our patients that are under 18 years old. Please make sure your child brings his/her most recent insurance card and any co-payment due to their appointment.
Up to What Age do you see patients at PWG?
We typically see our patients from birth through age 18. After age 18 it is up to the discretion of your physician. Most young adults will transition to an adult provider during their college years.
